Maple Cinnamon Nuts

Maple Cinnamon Nuts

Sure, nuts are great in their birthday suit. But if you're open to some experimentation, giving them a touch of maple and cinnamon makes these nuts all the more irresistible and dangerously addictive!

Great for snacks or gifts

Ingredients

4 cups of assorted nuts (1 1/3 cup each of almonds, pecans and walnuts)
2/3 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Pre-heat your oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Bake the nuts for approximately 8-10 minutes, just to lightly roast them.

While the nuts are baking, mix the maple syrup and vanilla extract in one small bowl. Add in the cinnamon and salt and stir

Once the nuts are done, heat a skillet on the stove over medium-high heat. When hot, add in the nuts and the remaining mixed ingredients. Mix well, ensuring the nuts are thoroughly coated. Constantly stir on the pan, cooking for about 3-5 minutes, until most of the liquid has evaporated.

Transfer the mixture to the parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading out as much as possible and let cool down for at least 30 minutes. At this point, you can separate the nuts if you want, but wait at least 2 hours before transferring to jars.
