Penne Pasta De Cecco are pasta 'quills' or thin ridged tubes, cut diagonally.
Penne are a very versatile type of pasta and, subsequently, popular throughout Italy and abroad. Because they are cylindrical, the sauce they are served in actually gets inside the pieces of pasta and the grooved version "rigate" also allows the sauce to adhere to its surface, making every mouthful rich and tasty! The classic Italian recipe is the penne all'arrabiata.
De Cecco Artisan Penne Pasta is one of the best pasta available. Made from 100% semolina flour, De Cecco uses bronze dies to cut the pasta, which makes a really big difference in quality. The surface is much, much rougher, which means that the pasta cooks better and absorbs the sauce as it's meant to.
